Sleeping well is essential, but waking up well is no less important! The first few minutes after waking up, as well as what happens in our brain during those moments, can trigger an inhibiting or motivating process in the body that influences how we spend the rest of the day.
Therefore, there's nothing like managing your thoughts well first thing in the morning. This moment of relaxation and morning motivation (informal meditation) has this purpose: to help you start the day with positive and loving thoughts, including for yourself. Take courage and listen. Start building strong, positive beliefs today.
How, when and where to listen:
(It's natural that, after listening, I continue to feel a little sleepy for longer than normal, but then it passes).
You can listen to it in bed, before getting up (it's always best with headphones). Your eyes can be closed or open, as this isn't a "formal" meditative moment;
You can listen while you prepare breakfast or while you are eating or getting dressed;
Avoid listening while driving, as it can be distracting. The audio asks you to breathe in and out a few times, and this action, if done while driving, can cause you to close your eyes (involuntarily) for milliseconds.
If possible, you can also listen at your workplace or on public transport;
If you can't listen first thing in the morning, try listening until lunchtime. Choose the best time for you and open your mind and heart to this new practice that can help you have a calmer and happier day.
