Tips to Be a More Organized Person

Dicas Para Ser Uma Pessoa Mais Organizada

Do you tend to accumulate tasks? Do you have clothes scattered around your bedroom? How long has your life been a real mess? Don’t worry. There’s always time to learn more about organization (even if we’re convinced we’re already organized enough).

Being punctual, always knowing where you leave things, and liking to keep your home tidy are habits that can help you, but in the end, it’s all about taking control of your life and establishing a solid daily routine.

Make your bed every morning.

It’s been proven that making your bed every morning helps calm you and brings more positivity to your day. Also, wash any dishes piled up in the kitchen—when it’s clean and organized, you’ll feel more motivated to cook.

Eliminate, reduce, and simplify.

Whether you have a chaotic living room, dishes to wash in the kitchen, or clothes scattered around the bedroom, the truth is that this reality also extends to your time and projects. Eliminate what you don’t need and avoid accumulating things that only take up space. External clutter often reflects internal clutter. Simplify and prioritize the five most important tasks of your day.

Keep a notebook handy.

By writing down a task, you reduce the chance of forgetting it. Don’t expect your mind to remember everything. Instead, write your to-dos in a notebook and carry it with you everywhere. Taking notes whenever you hear something you don’t want to forget is essential for an organized life. Make shopping lists, task lists, and lists of random thoughts.

Choose a place to always leave your things.

Choose just one specific spot in your home to leave your main belongings (keys, phone, wallet, etc.). This strategy will help avoid delays when leaving for work or any other appointment.

Create more space.

One of the best ways to create more workspace is to maximize vertical space. Instead of having just a few shelves to store items, take everything up to the ceiling. This way, you'll store what you need less frequently on the higher shelves.

Manage your time well.

Try to do important tasks during quiet moments at work. Focus on your duties when your energy is at its peak and save less demanding commitments for other times. Concentrate on the sense of accomplishment you'll feel when the work is finally done.

Know when to stop.

High levels of organization require high levels of energy. For that, it's essential to know when to stop. Schedule short breaks throughout the day. This will help you maintain the necessary vitality and recharge your batteries before fully dedicating yourself to your projects.

Don't do everything simultaneously.

When we try to do everything at once, our attention gets divided and we can't give 100% to anything. That's why the more things you try to do at the same time, the longer it will take to finish everything you need to do. One thing at a time is always the way.
